SUITABILITY: Year 8–12 Music
THEMES: Guillaume Dufay, Josquin des Prez, Renaissance and medieval music

Don't miss a night of pure vocal splendour as The Hilliard Ensemble perform sublime sacred music by two Renaissance masters and from the medieval Abbey of St Martial de Limoges.

The foremost composer of Renaissance Europe, Guillaume Dufay's exquisite four-part mass Se la Face ay Pale, with its overlapping waves of ethereal sound, established the dominant composition style of the age. Successor Josquin des  Prez's works are characterised by melodic splendour, technical genius and breathtaking creative ingenuity.

Awe-inspiring, edifying, and amazingly beautiful. HARTFORD COURANT
