LOUISE MICHEL

Directors: Gustave de Kervern & Benoît Delépine · 90min · M
In French with subtitles

This politically incorrect black comedy focuses on today's global business ethics while mocking everything from rampant capitalism, greenies, 9/11 conspiracy theorists and illegal immigrants. It sings a resounding chorus of solidarity to workers everywhere and vengeance on the rich and powerful.

A group of laid-off workers decides to take revenge after their factory closes and the bosses skip town. Louise (Yolande Moreau), a hulking, anti-social illiterate, comes up with a brainwave – use their pooled severance pay to hire a hitman and liquidate their ex-boss!

Louise-Michel is a portrait of, and dedication to, the historical Louise Michel, who was a 19th-century French revolutionary and social reformer.

Please remain seated after the credits for a stinger like no other!
